I need to replace the slider on my Glaskasten so that there is no hole (shorts on K switch) Which replacement slider can be modified to work best?
Also, I have a number of locomotives with the 7164 that also has the same problem, is there a direct replacement with no hole? Is the Brawa 2225 a direct replacement?
Thanks!

Hello, i think the real challenge ist the space between the pick up shoe and the track. Imho this may be the reason for the special dedicated design of the pick up shoe. You will probably get problems on turnouts and so on. For your problem on K-switch it may help to bend the slider with its middle a bit up to the loko so that the hole will not fall into the pins. Else you may fill the hole by soldering and grinding.

Because this has not worked I am now forced with replacing the slider completely.
I think I may need to use the Roco slider (with plastic removed and ends flattened), since the slotted design of the Roco means I can shorten the spring tabs on the Glaskasten to fit the shorter length.
I can make my own slider as a replacement for the 7164, though I may run into clearance issues on some models - I need to modify and test.
