Greetings from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA. I want to buy a liegewagen. The best one I have found is an Acme 52557 Öbb Liegewagen. Unfortunately, I can't actually buy the item because of difficulties between German and English websites. Does anybody know of a dealer who can easily answer my questions about shipping costs and make it easy to buy? I would love to buy a Märklin version but they never made one with my requirements which are: 1. ÖBB rot/grau livery. 2. Red bed covers. 3. Visible ladders Thanks, Tom

Hello Tom,
You are looking for an Austrian couchette coach. There are a number of models in 1/87 exact scale. LS Models and ACME are perhaps the two companies that come to mind. The coaches are 30cm long, which is longer than most Maerklin coaches. The models include a number of different coach types. There is (A) the Austrian Bcmz, based on the Swiss RIC coaches, (B) the more modern OBB EC coach type and (C) the Modular Couchette coach.
The best sources for LSM and ACME in America are: Euromodeltrains, Reynaulds, Eurolokshop and EuroTrainHobby Unfortunately they do not stock models in large quantities, so usually once a model is sold, there are no more.
To order from Europe, I recommend you try Huenerbein.de in Aachen, Eyro.ch in Interlaken Switzerland or Memoba.at in Vienna (Austria) All three of these dealers will respond to you in English
Hello all, hello Tom, hello Mike
Nothing to add to Mike's post - except maybe to point out that what Eyro carries in their online store is mostly in stock or (the smaller part and the one where there is no price) is yet to come. It's certainly not the case that items are listed and they are actually out of stock.
