Die Kittelburg ist eine fiktive deutsche Burg. Sie krönt jetzt im Wellington Märklin Model Railway Club die Club Anlage: Bergtalbahn (Bild 28). Die Burg ist eine Mischung aus Bausatz Modellen und Eigenbaumodellen. Die meisten Mauern, Türme und Gebäude wurden aus Pappe und Modelliermasse erstellt. Die Burg besteht aus der unteren Burg, dem Mittelteil, und der oberen Burg.

In der unteren Burg (Bild 2) findet gerade ein Wochenmarkt statt. Die beiden linken Türme sind Eigenbaumodelle. Am Rapunzelturm findet die jährliche Rapunzelturmbesteigung statt (siehe Bilder 11 bis 17). Bild 3 zeigt eine Vogelperspektive des Marktes. Unterhalb des Rundturmes liegt ein kleiner Burggarten, in dem ein paar Leute am Gärtnern sind (Bild 4).

Im Bild 5 und 6 sehen wir den Mittelteil zwischen den beiden Burgen mit Eisverkäufer, Motorradfahrern und Passanten, sowie Skateboarder und durch das Tor einen Blick zum Bierfest. Bild 7: ein Kunstmaler hat sein Studio eingerichtet. Die Hügel im Hintergrund sind die echten Hügel von Wellington. Wie lustig ist das?

Bild 8 zeigt die obere Burg, in der nur der Torturm ein käufliches Modell ist (Wird). Alle anderen Gebäude, einschließlich Bergfried und Haupthaus, wurden im Eigenbau hergestellt. Bild 9 zeigt eine Vogelperspektive des Burghofes mit Bierfest. Im Bild 10 sehen wir ein zünftiges Bierfest am Abend mit selbstgemachten Lichterketten.

The Kittelburg is a fictive German castle. The model crowns the ‘Bergtalbahn’ layout of the Märklin Model Railway Club, Wellington, New Zealand (Picture 28). It is a mix of kit sets (Faller, Wiad) and scratch building. Most of the walls, towers and buildings were scratch built from cardboard and modelling compound. The castle consists of the lower castle, the middle part and the upper castle.

In the lower castle (picture 2) is a weekly market happening. The two left towers are scratch built. At the Rapunzeltower the yearly Rapunzeltower climb is just happening (see pictures 11 to 17). Picture 3 shows a birds-eye view of the market. Below the round tower is a small castle garden where a few people are working (picture 4).

In picture 5 and 6 we see the middle part between the lower and upper castle, with ice cream vendor, motor cycles and passers by, as well as skate boarders. Through the gate, we can glimpse the beer festival. Picture 7: an artist has established his studio. The hills in the background are the real hills of Wellington. How funny is this?

Picture 8 shows the upper castle, where only the gate tower was a kitset model (Wiad). All other buildings, including the castle keep, and the main building, were scratch built. Picture 9 shows a birds-eye view of the castle court yard with the beer festival. In Picture 10 we see a hearty beer festival at night with scratch-built light chains.
