Hi everyone

I have three Roco SBB coaches. (see picture). The one shown has a slider and outer rail pickup for interior lighting. I have installed a keep alive and replaced the two bulbs with an LED strip. It works very well. I have carried wires from that coach across to the other two coaches but now they are permanently attached and the wires are giving me some issues going round my R1 and R2 curves (I have a Marklin layout)>

I have tried fitting some micro plugs and sockets but the wires are still a bit stiff. I would like to fit sliders, etc. to the other two coaches. Can anyone tell me where I could find some sliders etc. for these two coaches?

Hello David,

There are several sliders you can use, i think the one you used was a Märklin one. You can buy several sliders at the Märklin Website, here‘s one:

You also find lots of other things there that could be useful.

I however would recommend you another solution: Instead of using wires you can use electric couplers that make sure that there is a power supply without having to connect the coaches permanently.

As morterti said, i would also not recomend sliders and Rail pick up's on each coaches.
The rolling resistance would increase dramatically, also the noise level.
Depending on the locomotive you would not be able to connect more coaches.
I would recommend coupling device with 2 pools (+ and -) because of the rail pick up's.
Is it possible to use the coupling devices (pluggable) as proposed by morterti? If not it will be difficult.

I have moved to the idea of conductive couples as these coaches all have NEM sockets. However, they will both need outside rail pickups as the coupler only transmits the puko.

I have ordered some ESU conductive couplers as these pass both wires meaning I need only one slider and outside rail pickup.

I will report back as and when they arrive.
