Hi, since im begginer in DCC, please can somebody tell me does ESU lokpilot 54611 supports dimming of light bulbs 12v or this option is strictly reserved for leds, is there any special CV (like in previous version, cv63 for dimming) ?

Also, does Lokpilot standard (without sound) support options in Jmri for light effects ?

Hello PrinzEugen,

according to my knowledge you cannot reduce the voltage for the lights. If you choose dimming it will be some kind of "pulse duration modulation" similar to the motor. Thsi means you still have the original height of the voltage but for shorter times. Therefore try to avoid using bulbs or othe equipment with lower voltage-rating as approx 18 Volts. If necessary use resistors to reduce voltage rating.

With light bulbs you can not see the dimming.

Only if you dimm LEDs extremely low, is it possible to see the light dimming frequency.

So what options i have with dcc lokpilot 4.0 standard, any special function or i need to buy more expensive decoder ?

LokPilot V4 or LokPilot standard?
There is no such thing as a Lokpilot V4 standard......

Lokpilot standard is a "cheap" decoder and does not have all the functions a LokPilot V4 decoder has.
CV 113 to 118 is responsible for setting up the outputs, including dimming in 15 steps.

you do not require an extra circuit board for the lights.

Try the Brightness CV.

ESU 54611 Is a normal LokPilot V4.
Here you have all functions for the four outputs (2x light an aux 1+2).


Instead of reading the manuals, download the lokprogrammer software and use it.

I understand, but this can be done via jmri also, picture added in first post.

When editing trough lokprogrammer software (without hardware) results are then manually entered in mm or some other editing software, am i correct ?

Hello,

in the Lokprogrammer-software you can export a list of all changed CV-settings and you need to enter them manually into your control-system to change settings of the decoder.
