RE: KPEV and EF vehicles in Italy after WWI

#1 von carmaxspe , 11.04.2021 16:13

Good afternoon.

My name is Massimo from Italy.

After I red an old article (2009) on a rail model magazine about KPEV and EF vehicles that
arrived in Italy after WWI, I started a project to create a small number of that vehicles.

The article mentioned 8 coaches and 1 luggage car KPEV and 1 coach and 2 luggage cars EF.

The article also show drawing for each vehicle, the original type (not for all), car number,
builder and some dimensions.

The article also suggest the model that can fit the original prototype, this with the
knowledge of 2009: some suggested model are already in FS livery but now not available,
some others can be converted to italian repainting and applying new markings (so, cheap
models are strongly recommended ).

Along the last to weeks I investigate to find more datailed drawings and to check the
correspondence between prototype and model and I found some obstacles (drawings
not found, models (Roco 44589) that here

http://www.dieepoche2.de/abteilwagen-2.html

seems to be C3tr Pr 09 (mit BrH) but in another site I found instead
ROCO 44589 --> C3tr Pr 04 Essen 52 280 BrH

Giving that the matter is a bit complicate I submit to your kind attention some initial
questions.

Herebelow the list of type of vehicles that arrived in Italy with the suggested model
(the list omits those items for which the type is not clearly specified, by now, we
postpone this problem)

KPEV
AB4ü Pr 96 ------> no model found
B3 Pr 11 ------> Roco 64281 (already in FS livery), Roco 44583
C3tr Pr 04 ------> Roco 64280 (already in FS livery), Roco 44589
C3 Pr 11 -------> Roco 64282 (already in FS livery), Roco 44521, Roco 44206
C4 Pr 02 -------> Brawa 45258, 45252, Fleischmann 5686
C3 Pr 96 -------> Fleischmann 5794K
Pw3 Pr 11 -------> Liliput 334400
C4 Pr 96 -------> no model found
C4ü Pr 13 -------> no model found

EF
In the first attachment the draw of a coach that become FS ABz 75.626 where the type
is not complete in the article, but that was associated to Fleischmann 5685 model.

In the second attachment, two draws of luggage cars where the prototype type
is unknown as well the possible model.

An now the questions.

In your opinion, association between prototype codes and models fits?

Do you have any idea if the "not found" model exists?

And last but not least, can you complete the prototype type of the attached items?

Thanks for your attention and apologize for this long post.

Massimo.

P.S. I looked for a "Presentation" section, as usual in our domestic forum, but I didn't find it.

Hello Massimo,

please do not use pdf-files for your abloads - please have a look into the FAQ of the forum and use an external picture-hoster like "abload.de"

Thanks for your suggestion Stefan.

Giving that FAQ are in German it is a bit hard to me to find the correct topic.

Anyway it is not a problem because this is the usual way I use to attach pictures in a post.

Looking that there was a more direct system, I went in that way and it is to say that it take
a bit of work to convert .JPG, that I already had, in PDF.

Here below the same attachments in .JPG

The image above is from an article in the magazine "I treni" written by Pietro Merlo.

OK - I know Elsass-Lothringen Railways (Reichseisenbahnen Elsaß-Lothringen) as "EL", and later (when reintegrated in France) as AL, Alsace-Lorraine (Chemins de Fer d'Alsace-Lorraine).
What's the "F" standing for ?
