ob hohe Bäume oder niedrige Wiesen, ob Frühling oder Herbst, ob Büsche oder kleine Grasbüschel, ob altes verwittertes Holz oder kräftig nachwachsende "Holzlieferanten" - das was du baust und hier uns ausführlich zeigst, gefällt mir in jeder Hinsicht! Deine Vegetationsnachbildung ist ganz großartig. Die Möglichkeiten, die die größere Spur bietet, nutzt du sehr gut. In H0 wäre manches zu verwirrend und könnte überladen wirken. Bei dir entsteht ein hervorragender naturgetreuer Eindruck.

Boat building...

Well its been a while since my last post, started up to clean the storage room and added 2 smaller modules to the layout...





have to do a bit of cleaning more to do, mounting a couple of closets already standing here for 2 years under the roof and then it's time for the peninsula..
And I added a new one to the roster..



Have JMRI up and running, control with Iphone or Android. Switches will be changed from manual to servo or Cobalt controled

Well I started closing the gap between Mara Harbor and Cardigan. Using XPS foam I tried a new gluegun with PUR foam used to glue brick to speed up the work..pretty happy now, can say I closed the gap. Still some Frocks to glue in and I have to fill the manhole in the back with a removable piece of landscape..

Started working on a couple of things, adding Frocks working on a stone and wood quay...and a load of foam carving to do..stone is just drawn with a soft lead pencil in foamboard without paper..

Added 2 modules more today..

With 3 shows coming up at the end of September and the first 2 weeks of October it's time to finish the wharf. Reworked one of the buildings. Not that happy with the green so I started building a new one with stone sidings and white boards. Still a touch of green..







corrugated metal roof, rusty..gonna try Vallejos chipping medium on that..

Bought a Gorillapod and a selfiestick. Last one fits great on the tripod. Fooling with the iPhone..

Couple of quick ones. Sunday hobby time..

Finaly made a start weathering all the buildings on the wharf the way I like them, adding washes, streaks etc. Building some details to..

Mock up time, still some big gaps to fill..2 months to the next show so there's some work to do..









Deutschland premiere ModellHobbySpiel Leipzig 2-4 Oktober 2015

Arranged and re-arranged the foamboard mock-ups on this piece of the wharf. Pretty happy with the view of the rooflines now. Pretty funny how a innitial design changes over the year..Like the peak throughs and started on building and finishing the mock-ups by simply cladding them..

Cladding, painting more cladding..aditional weathering with some Ammo stuff, like this alot. More forgiving as acrylic washes.. the small shed just needs a light drybrush. Lots to be done before the Leipzig show..

Leipzig und Sedan Fr (RAMMA) in Oktober, letzte woche September Valkenburg NL, 3 wochen 3 messen

Been fooling around with this enamel stuff, Try to find the difference between AK interactive, Mig productions and Ammo by Mig. Besides the slightly different color the one is a bit more paint like as the other. But I'm very pleased with the way they work. Started on 2 AMS boxcars to weather, the one with the enamel washes and streaking grimes the other with Vallejo washes. Although I do like the acrylic Vallejo washes I must say I'm impressed with the enamel washes and grimes. They are more forgiving, To much can be removed with a damp brush with thinner and a rag.

Greenish decay in wood, slimy grime dark AK interactive, almost the same color as Ammo by Mig but slightly thinner..

Well more of the washes and streaks, this enamel based paint from our military modelers. First of all I do use a lot of paper in my builds. Most roof material is paper. And well to prime all of these with acrylics. To lazy for that. So I tested the use of pigments and enamels. First the base is a Canson MIteintes pastel paper. A good base for the use of pastels so it had to be good for pigments to as is a pastel pigment with a binder. The roof with the beams on it the pigments are fixed with Vallejo pigment fixer, acrylic based, the other roof I used the enamel based MIG productions pigment fixer and after drying it holds pretty good. AAfter that I made a start with the grimes and streaks, washed some of the roofcaps with trackrust and came over with a couple of rust streaks. Added some greens to, slimy grime dark and one very usefull is the rainmarks. Both from AMMO and AK leave a nice fine withish streaking effect. Although it's almost like working with acrylics when paper based. The paint tends to suck into the paper..

Couldn't resist to use a couple of these AK, Ammo and Mig products on the deck of the wharf and the cobblestones. First some layers with pigments fixed with a pigment fixer, Additional some washes and streaking effect followed by a drybrush with titanium buff..left side is done so far the rght side needs to be finished...dunno if it's a bit to much..but started it so I have 4 foot more..

Hallo Jörg wenn ich das recht habe. Habe vorher die steine gemalt mit kunstler acrylfarben. Danach ein bischen nachbearbeitet mit pigmente Mig russian earth and city dust und die Vallejo raw umber. Fixiert mit den pigmentfixer Mig's drybrush mit titanium buff dark acrylfarbe..
